Founded in 2012, the Urban Law Center at Fordham Law School seeks to investigate and improve the role of the law and legal systems in contemporary urbanism. It promotes an interdisciplinary understanding of the legal, governance, and regulatory aspects of urban environments by advancing collaborative research and scholarship, organizing local and global convenings, and supporting knowledge sharing, career pathways and pedagogy in the world of urban law. In particular, the Center’s efforts focus on forces that shape urban inequality and urban innovation, targeting the most pressing issues facing our nation’s cities and their metropolitan regions.
Mark Walsh, Managing Partner, Silverpeak Real Estate Partners

Mark Walsh is a partner and co-founder of Silverpeak. He is responsible for the platform’s strategic initiatives and origination activities.
Before founding Silverpeak, Mark Walsh headed Lehman Brothers’ Global Real Estate Group and served as Global Co-Head of Lehman Brothers Real Estate Private Equity. During his 20 years at Lehman Brothers, the firm became a leading debt and equity investment platform both domestically and globally.
Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mark Walsh was a lawyer where he represented financial institutions in all aspects of commercial mortgage loan origination, workouts and secondary market transactions. He’s also a Founding Member of the Ziman Center for Real Estate at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. Mark earned his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and a J.D. from Fordham Law School.
